Seven-day Safari
During this seven-day safari to the North of Ghana, you'll get to see the life in rural areas; if you are lucky you will see Elephants, monkeys and antilopes during the safari at Mole National Park, we dare you to touch crocodiles, visit the Boabeng Monkey Sanctuary and the Kintampo Waterfalls. In the North of Ghana there is also no light-polution and you will see the most amazing sky full of stars.
Travel to Tamale
We will pick you up in at an agreed location in Accra. The travel to the North of Ghana is a long trip. At 5 p.m. we we'll take the bus at Circle in Accra and arrive around 5 a.m. the next morning in Tamale. After arrival we'll take a few hours to rest after which we'll visit the independence square, the chief's palace and the Art centre.
Larabanga
After breakfast we travel to Larabanga and visit the Mosque. The 13th century Mosque, believed to be first built by Moorish Traders, it is one of the holiest sites in Ghana. We will also visit the Mystique Stone which is believed to have special powers. In the evening we'll enjoy a nice barbeque while looking at a beautiful sky full of stars.
Mole National Park
We will wake up early in the morning for a safari in Mole National Park were we'll see antilopes, baboons and elephants in the wild. Mole is Ghana’s largest wildlife refuge. The park is located in northwest Ghana on grassland savanna and riparian ecosystems at an elevation of 150 m, with sharp escarpment forming the southern boundary of the park.
After visiting the Mole National Park we will travel to Paga.
Paga Crocodile Pond
Today we will visit the Paga crocodile pond. This Crocodile Pond was originally a sacred sanctuary for crocodiles. Tourists come to watch hordes of eager crocodiles responding to the summons of the attendants. The crocodiles are said to be totems for the people of Kassena, who live in Paga and the surrounding communities. It is believed that each native of Paga has a corresponding crocodile representing the person's soul.
Kintampo waterfall
The Kintampo Fall is a spectacular 80 foot waterfall with a small swimming area at the base. Continue to the village of Boabeng Fiema where Sacred Monkeys live in harmony with the community. You will likely interact with the monkeys.
We'll end this day with a nice diner while we'll enjoy a night full or cultural music and dancing.
Travel
In the morning we'll start our travel back to Accra. During our drive we stop in Kumasi, the second largest city in Ghana, and visit the Manhyia Palace. In the evening we arrive back in Accra
