15-days summer-trip program

Ready for some fun and adventure? Join one of our two-week trips around Ghana this summer. You will get to see beautiful beaches, exotic animals in the wild, waterfalls, interesting culture and amazing party’s. Arrive in Ghana through the Kotoka International Airport. You will be met on arrival, transferred to you hotel and given an orientation on Ghana. Overnight at the hotel. Ghana, West Africa, is one of the best places in the world to tour. There are many places to see and things to do, and Ghanaians are known as some of the friendliest people in the world. What are you waiting for?


Day 1 – Welcome Friday

We pick you up at Kotota Airport in Accra and bring you to the first hostel, right at Zango Beach. The program starts with an introduction and a welcome drink to get to know each other.

Day 2 – Orientation Accra

On Saturday you get to see the vibrant life of the capital: authentic art works by renowned Ghanaian Artists, the Makola market, Black Star square, James Town, and many other hotspots of Accra. You get African drumming classes at the beach and you learn about the interesting history of Ghana. For the party-animals among us: our night program is going out at Osu at the greatest bars and clubs in town. More information?

Day 3 – Relaxing Sunday

On Sunday morning we take it slow. You can swim in the ocean, take a walk at the beach, sleep in or join a church service. Afternoon, we will drive towards Cape Coast. Along the road we will have a pit stop at the beach to take a refreshing dive in the ocean. At night we will arrive at the hostel and you get served a nice dinner and enjoy local music and dancing

Day 4 – Cape Coast Castle

On Monday we will visit Cape Coast Castle: Give you self a feel of the slave trade era. Take the privilege to descend down memory lane. Cape Coast Castle is one of the most beautiful castles in existence today. Millions of slaves passed through its walls en route to the Caribbean and the Americas, and it was the seat of British colonial administration until 1877. You will get a tour around the town by a local tour guide. He will tell you about the city’s community, it’s history and guide you to interesting places. After that we head towards the next hostel and spend the night in the nature. More information?

Day 5 – Kakum National Park

On Tuesday morning, you will get served breakfast in the middle of the bush and get the chance to stand eye-in-eye with a monkey. Our host Dennis, better known as ‘the Monkey-man’, loves to tell you all about his monkeys and the other exotic animals. Tuesday’s program also includes a visit at Kakum National Park and we end the day with a barbecue. More information?

Day 6 – Beach paradise

On Wednesday we drive towards our next hostel. For the daredevils among us, we will make a pit stop along the road to see and touch real Crocodiles. We will also make a stop at Cape Three point. This village is the southernmost community in Ghana. It's beach is surrounded by Ghana’s only coastal rainforest reserve and many rolling hills, the village also has a few secondary attractions, such as relaxation, beach and sea activities, hiking, and exploration of its cultural present and colonial past. In the evening we will arrive at Busua, where you can relax in the sun and enjoy a dive in the ocean. 

Day 7 – Surfing

On Thursday, sun block is required. You have the whole day to relax at the beach, swim in the ocean and play beach-volley. You get the chance to hit the waves during the surf classes. At night it is time to practice your African dance moves and enjoy the local music.

Day 8 – Kumasi orphanage

Friday we make our way to Kumasi, the second biggest city of Ghana. On the way we will stop at a village that is completely build on stils. In Kumasi we visit the orphanage that Dream Africa Care Foundation supports and you can meet and play with the children that live there. In the evening you get served a traditional dish from the region and after that you can join our local guide to explore Kumasi’s nightlife.

 

Day 9 – Culture and creativity at Kumasi

On Saturday, you will learn and see more of the rich culture of Kumasi, the capital of the former Ashanti-Kingdom. You will be guided trough town, visit the Royal Palace and see other hotspots at Kumasi. You get to learn the traditional (weaving) workshop at the afternoon. We continue our journey towards the North and sleep at Kintampo.

Day 10 – Waterfalls and bonfire

A local guide will tell you about the nature and culture of Kintampo on Sunday. We will make a hike towards one of the biggest and most beautiful waterfalls in Ghana: the Kintampo waterfalls. At night it we will play games in de middle of nowhere and have a party around a bonfire. Read more.

Day 11 – Culture and stars

Monday morning we drive to Larabanga, a small village in the North. Larabanga is a rural village with a rich history. You can visit the Mystic Stone and the oldest mosque of Ghana: the Sahelian Mosque (said to date from 1421). After eating dinner with our right hand and a refreshing a bucket-shower underneath a sky full of stars, it’s time to get some rest for the following day. Read more.

Day 12 – Safari!

Tuesday, we wake up early morning to visit the Mole National Park, Ghana’s largest Wildlife Refuge. You get to do a walking safari, a Jeep safari and visit the museum. You will see great nature and many interesting animals, and if you are lucky you will see Elephants in the wild! Read more.

Day 15 – Souvenirs and memories

Saturday is the last day of the trip. To end it well we bring you to the art centre where you can buy nice souvenirs from Ghana. After that we will say goodbye and you will fly home with unforgettable memories!

Day 13 – Party bus!

On Wednesday we drive towards the east of Ghana. Along the road we will listen to Ghanaian music and watch movies. We will have a break in a local village. At night we will stay at Jay’s Lodge, a nice place surrounded by beautiful nature and a great moment to try out some local drinks.

Day 14 – Who dares?

On Friday you get an amazing change to push your boundaries at Ghana’s first zip line. Who dares? After that, we make our way back to the capital where we will do a pub quiz. Lets see how many facts you remember from the trip! We spend our last night at the beach to cherish all beautiful moments together.
